abstract A battery having high reliability in which foreign matter is prevented from staying in a portion on which a separator is placed at the bottom of a battery case is provided. An alkaline battery includes a bottomed cylindrical battery case, a hollow cylindrical positive electrode disposed on the inner surface of the battery case, a gelled negative electrode disposed in a hollow portion of the positive electrode, and a positive electrode and a negative electrode between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. A separator disposed, and an alkaline electrolyte. The separator includes a cylindrical separator disposed on the inner surface of the positive electrode, and a bottom separator that covers an opening on the bottom side of the battery case in the cylindrical separator. The bottom part of the battery case includes an annular base part for placing the bottom part of the positive electrode, an annular intermediate part for placing the bottom separator provided inside the base part, and a terminal part protruding downward from the intermediate part, including.
