An ink set having a dark ink composition and a light ink composition having different pigment concentrations, wherein each of the dark ink composition and the light ink composition includes a pigment and the following (A) and (B): And a humectant mixed with the compound of (C) and 60 to 10% by weight of water in the total amount of the ink, and the weight ratio of the humectant content of the dark ink composition is (A) : (B): (C) = 1: 0.1 to 1: 1-3, and the weight ratio of the humectant content of the light ink composition is (A) + (B) :( C) = Ink set that is 1: 1-2. (A) At least one compound selected from glycerin, 1,2,6-hexanetriol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, tetraethylene glycol and dipropylene glycol.
