A catalyst and a method for producing ethylene oxide using the catalyst are provided. A support containing crystalline silica alumina and at least one of amorphous silica and amorphous silica alumina and having an acidic color due to methyl red of pKa + 4.8 indicator is used as a support for a catalyst for producing ethylene oxide.
