abstract A low-cost and small actuator device is realized. An actuator device according to the present invention includes a lens holder that holds an objective lens, and a focus / tracking drive unit that moves the lens holder in a focusing direction and a tracking direction. The focus / tracking drive means includes a container 4, a magnetic fluid 5, focus coils 6a to 6d, 6A to 6D, and tracking coils 7a to 7d and 7A to 7D. A current is applied to each coil by a current source (not shown) so that a magnetic field is applied to the magnetic fluid 5, and a flow is generated in the magnetic fluid 5 to apply a driving force to the lens holder 3.
