The present invention provides a method for producing a secondary or tertiary monoamine by using a primary or secondary raw material monoamine as a substrate and reacting the raw material monoamine with a monoalcohol. The present invention relates to a reaction between a primary or secondary raw material monoamine and a monoalcohol, a trivalent iron compound (iron (III) bromide, etc.), and a carboxylic acid containing a nitrogen atom (pyrrole).
