abstract A gear device having a small size and excellent durability is provided. A gear device includes a worm shaft as a first metal gear, and a worm wheel as a second gear meshed with the worm shaft. The worm wheel 12 is formed by laminating a plurality of thin metal plates 50 and a synthetic resin plate 51 as a thin soft plate having a hardness lower than that of the metal plate 50 alternately in the tooth width direction X1. The gear body 120 for forming the worm wheel 12 (see FIG. 3 (b)) is engaged with the stepped tooth surface Q of the metal conforming tooth body of the conforming operation device to perform the conforming operation.
