abstract An interferometer capable of suppressing a decrease in interferometer measurement system caused by ghost light is provided. An interferometer includes a light source, a first polarization beam splitter that reflects a first polarization component of light emitted from the light source as reference light, and transmits a second polarization component as measurement light, and the light source. And an element of a birefringent material disposed between the first polarizing beam splitter and the first polarizing beam splitter, and the first polarizing beam splitter and the first polarizing beam splitter. A light receiving element that receives interference light between the light and the reference light reflected by the first polarization beam splitter.
