abstract An electrode active material and a secondary battery having a large energy density, high output, and good cycle characteristics with little decrease in capacity even after repeated charge and discharge are realized. An electrode active material mainly comprises an organic compound having a diamine structure in a structural unit. Specifically, the structural unit has a conjugated diamine structure represented by the general formula (I) and a phenazine structure represented by the general formulas (II) and (III).
