abstract Provided is a siRNA that is a double-stranded RNA having 21 to 27 bases that suppresses the expression of a target gene used in RNA interference or the like, and has a high gene suppression effect. Also provided is an efficient gene expression suppression method using the siRNA. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A low molecular weight compound having an unsaturated hydrocarbon compound as a basic skeleton is easily and efficiently chemically modified into ribonucleotides by a known phosphoramidite method or an active esterification method using a succinimide linker. An efficient gene expression suppression technique represented by the above-mentioned siRNA production means and RNA interference method using the same. [Selection figure] None
