Melt processable thermoplastic composition |
abstract |
A melt-processable thermoplastic composition is provided. A melt processable thermoplastic composition comprising: a) 50 to 99.5% by weight melt processable thermoplastic polymer; and b) 0.5 to 50% by weight particulate polymer; The particulate polymer is 50-100% by weight MMA, at least 0-50% by weight of ethylenically unsaturated comonomer containing at least one alkyl acrylate or alkyl methacrylate and 0-10% by weight of copolymerizable crosslinkable. A composition is described having residues of a monomer mixture containing monomers, wherein the particles have a maximum particle size of 5 mm. The composition has a low surface gloss and can be useful in construction parts formation or other applications where a low gloss surface is required. Also described is a method of making the composition and its use, for example its use as a capstock material. [Selection figure] None. |
