A negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery provided by the present invention has a configuration in which a negative electrode active material layer including a negative electrode active material is held on a negative electrode current collector. The negative electrode active material layer 30 includes carbon nanowalls 32 formed on the negative electrode current collector 20, and a negative electrode active material 36 supported on the carbon nanowalls 32.
