abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide newsprint with high opacity and strength using mechanical pulp made from cedar wood that has been difficult to use as pulp. The present invention relates to newsprint paper in which a filler is internally added to raw pulp, and mechanical pulp made from cedar and pine wood chips is used as the raw pulp, and this cedar wood chip is used. Is an absolute dry weight ratio of 5:95 to 50:50 and white carbon having a volume average particle size of 15 μm to 25 μm and 1.7 μm to 12.5 μm Newspaper paper, characterized by being inorganic particles. The inorganic particles are preferably silica composite regenerated particles in which silica is compounded on the surface of regenerated particles obtained by dehydration, drying, combustion, and pulverization using papermaking sludge as a main raw material.
