A novel polymerization system is provided that reduces particle agglomeration and / or the amount of chlorinated hydrocarbons such as methyl chloride. A novel polymerization process involving a diluent containing a hydrogenated fluorinated hydrocarbon and its use in the production of new polymers having a new sequence distribution, in particular isoolefins, preferably isobutylene, and alkylstyrenes, preferably methyl. Copolymers with a new sequence distribution of styrene, more preferably para-methylstyrene, can optionally be halogenated. [Selection figure] None |
