abstract | [PROBLEMS] To provide light and / or heat excellent in mass productivity and capable of obtaining an excellent cured film sufficiently satisfying properties such as hardness, heat resistance, chemical resistance, whitening resistance, electroless gold plating resistance, and electrical insulation. A curable resin, a composition containing the curable resin, and a cured product are provided. In the carboxyl group-containing resin of the present invention, the monocarboxylic acid (b) is added to the epoxy group of a resin (a) having two or more epoxy groups in one molecule with respect to 1 equivalent of the epoxy group. A part of the mixture charged at a ratio of 3 mol or more is subjected to addition reaction to obtain a reaction product (c), and then the polybasic acid (d) is charged in the presence of unreacted monocarboxylic acid (b). Then, an epoxy group of the reaction product (c) is subjected to an addition reaction with a mixture of unreacted monocarboxylic acid (b) and polybasic acid (d) to obtain a reaction product (e) having an alcoholic hydroxyl group, Furthermore, it is obtained by subjecting the alcoholic hydroxyl group of the reaction product (e) to addition reaction of the polybasic acid anhydride (f) at a ratio of 0.0 to 1.0 mol with respect to 1 equivalent of the alcoholic hydroxyl group.
