Disclosed is a method for treating a disease caused by inhibition of a cell secretion process. An agent for use in inhibiting secretion from non-neuronal cells selected from the group consisting of endocrine cells, exocrine cells, immunological cells, cells of the cardiovascular system, and cells that result in bone damage upon secretion. The agent comprises first, second and third domains, wherein the first domain cleaves one or more proteins essential for exocytosis, and the second domain comprises the first domain An agent that translocates one domain to the cell and the third domain targets the agent to the non-neuronal cell.
