A battery manufacturing method and a battery thus obtained are provided that can efficiently manufacture a battery without mutual displacement of an electrode and a separator. A substrate porous film laminate carrying an electrode / partially crosslinked adhesive is charged in a battery container, and a reactive polymer in the partially crosslinked adhesive is further crosslinked to make the electrode porous. A method for producing a battery having a porous film in an electrode / porous film assembly as a separator, wherein the substrate porous film has a weight average molecular weight. It consists of a polyolefin resin composition of at least 500,000 polyolefin resin and a crosslinkable rubber having a double bond in the molecular chain, and is formed by crosslinking the crosslinkable rubber.
