abstract | A method for producing a non-aqueous pigment dispersion excellent in viscosity and a coloring composition for a color filter containing the non-aqueous pigment dispersion are provided. [1] A step (1) of obtaining a preliminary dispersion by dispersing a pigment and a first dispersant in an organic solvent with a media-type disperser, the obtained preliminary dispersion, and an adsorption rate to the pigment; A step (2) of further dispersing a second dispersant smaller than the first dispersant with a media-type disperser to obtain a pigment dispersion, and a step of removing the unadsorbed dispersant on the pigment from the obtained pigment dispersion A method for producing a non-aqueous pigment dispersion having (3), and [2] a coloring composition for a color filter containing a non-aqueous pigment dispersion obtained by the method.
