abstract The present invention provides an industrial process for producing nitriles, carboxylic acids, and carboxylic acid esters. In the presence of a metal catalyst, the general formula (1) (Wherein, R represents a cyano group, a carboxyl group or ester group, R 1 and R 2 each may have a substituent, a group which does not participate in the reaction, should be noted, R 1 and R 2 may be bonded to each other to form a ring), and an acetic acid compound represented by the general formula (2) (Wherein R, R 1 and R 2 have the same meanings as described above), a method for producing a nitrile compound, a carboxylic acid compound or a carboxylic acid ester compound.
