abstract | A gene region of a marker for determining resistance to an anticancer drug is provided. [Solution] An anticancer drug resistance determination method is provided. A novel function of the dexamethasone-induced protein gene was identified. In this dexamethasone-induced protein gene, the promoter region is methylated. When the expression of dexamethasone-induced protein decreases due to this methylation, apoptosis due to a caspase cascade is suppressed. For this reason, the present invention is characterized by detecting methylation of the dexamethasone-induced protein gene region of cancer cells and determining that it is resistant to an anticancer drug when the methylation is performed.
