A pixel array unit in which a plurality of pixels including a photoelectric conversion unit are two-dimensionally arranged, and a readout circuit that reads out pixel signals from the pixel array unit for each column. A reference level that has an AD conversion circuit that converts an analog pixel signal from the pixel array unit into a digital pixel signal, and the AD conversion circuit temporally changes with the signal level of the analog pixel signal from the pixel array unit; In the solid-state imaging device that performs AD conversion by comparing the above and the comparison unit, the frequency band characteristics of the comparison unit are switched according to the signal level of the analog pixel signal from the pixel array unit.
