abstract | To provide a developing device and an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing variation in deterioration of toner and making the charge amount of the developer on the developer carrying member uniform. Residual toner on the developing roller is removed from the developing roller 48 by a collecting blade 50 and sucked from a collecting air nozzle 52 to a collecting conveyance path 43 by a collecting powder pump 44. A charge removal unit 45 is provided in the collection conveyance path 43, and the residual toner sucked and conveyed in the collection conveyance path is discharged by the charge removal unit 45 and collected in the toner storage unit 42.
