abstract |
A polymer composition comprising a polyacetal resin together with a formaldehyde inhibitor (a component that reduces formaldehyde emission). The formaldehyde inhibitor includes an aluminum pigment. The aluminum pigment can include elemental aluminum, such as aluminum flakes, that not only can significantly reduce the release of formaldehyde from the composition, but can also give the composition a metal-like appearance. The aluminum pigment can be mixed with polyacetal resin together with unhindered phenol (phenol without steric hindrance) and / or polyethylene resin. Formaldehyde scavengers containing nitrogen-containing compounds can be added to further reduce formaldehyde emissions. [Selection figure] None |
