abstract Provided is a heat insulator that includes a heat storage material that has a heat storage material that can store heat for a long time at low cost and that is difficult to leak from an airtight container and that does not break even if the heat storage material is overheated. A heat storage material 2 made of a gel-like body containing a water-absorbing polymer and water has a heat storage body 2 sealed in a sealed container 4. The sealed container 4 is formed of a heat-resistant hard synthetic resin material, and includes a container main body 41 and a lid body 42 that is welded and attached to the inlet 41 a of the container main body 41. The water-absorbing polymer is sealed in the sealed container 4 at a ratio of 5 to 20 g with respect to 700 cc of water. The container body 41 has a flat shape formed by blow molding, and the injection port 41a is opened on the outer peripheral surface serving as the thickness portion, and the entire periphery of the outer peripheral surface excluding the injection port 41a is provided in the middle portion in the thickness direction.
