titleOfInvention Production of polyoxyalkylene derivatives terminated with a carboxyl group
abstract The present invention provides a method for producing a polyalkylene oxide having a carboxyl group at the terminal with a controlled molecular weight in a high yield. An initiator composition for anionic polymerization of a polymer having a carboxyl group as an α-terminal group, wherein (a) general formula: HOOC-R—OH, wherein R is a group —C (R1) ( R2) (CH2) m-, or a group -R3- (CH2) n-, wherein R1 and R2 are independently a linear or branched C1-6 alkyl, aryl, or aryl-C1-4 alkyl group. R3 represents an optionally substituted phenylene group, m is an integer of 0-12, and n is 1-12, (b) a reaction medium, and (C) The above composition comprising alkali metal-naphthalene, wherein the alkali metalated hydroxycarboxylic acid is finely dispersed in the reaction medium.
