Provided is a production method for obtaining a toner capable of obtaining sufficient low-temperature fixability while obtaining heat-resistant storage properties. A method for producing a toner comprising toner particles containing a cross-linked polymer having a divalent cross-linking group, wherein a specific polymerizable triaryl imidazole compound is used to form an inter-imidazole ring between triaryl imidazole groups. After obtaining a polymerizable triarylimidazole dimer compound by bonding, the polymerized triarylimidazole dimer compound is polymerized to undergo a step of obtaining a crosslinked polymer.
