abstract |
The present invention relates to an improvement in the administration efficiency of a pharmaceutical dry powder drug administered by pulmonary inhalation. Specifically, the present invention relates to providing powder inhalers and dry powder compositions that reproducibly achieve much higher delivery doses of pharmaceutically active agents than currently achieved. A dry powder inhaler device comprising a dry powder medicament comprising a pharmaceutically active agent, wherein a device efficiency of at least 70% 5 μm is achieved upon operation of the device. The device of claim 1 wherein the dry powder composition was prepared using a method comprising co-spray drying the pharmaceutically active agent with a force control agent. [Selection] Figure 2 |
