Method for producing an amphoteric propionate surfactant composition |
abstract |
A method for producing an amphoteric surfactant free from salt is provided. The method includes reacting an imidazoline compound with a mixture of acrylic acid and sodium acrylate in an aqueous medium at an elevated temperature, wherein the acrylic acid and sodium acrylate are each in a molar ratio range of 1: 6 to 1: 3. A process for producing an improved amphoteric propionate surfactant composition free of inorganic salts, formulated with the mixture. [Selection figure] None |
