The present invention provides a method for producing trans-1,4-bis (aminomethyl) cyclohexane which is excellent in equipment, safety and economy. At least one terephthalic acid or derivative thereof selected from the group consisting of terephthalic acid, terephthalic acid ester and terephthalic acid amide is nuclear hydrogenated to obtain hydrogenated terephthalic acid or derivative thereof, and then obtained Hydrogenated terephthalic acid or a derivative thereof is brought into contact with ammonia to obtain trans-1,4-dicyanocyclohexane from the obtained 1,4-dicyanocyclohexane, and then the obtained trans-1,4-dicyanocyclohexane is obtained. Trans-1,4-bis (aminomethyl) cyclohexane is produced by contacting with hydrogen. [Selection figure] None |
