titleOfInvention | Vascular sealing machine and splitting machine having non-conductive stop member |
abstract | An endoscopic bipolar forceps for sealing and dividing tissue is provided. An endoscopic bipolar forceps for sealing and dividing tissue comprises an elongate shaft having opposing jaw members 22 and 24 at their distal ends. The jaw members are moveable relative to each other from the first position, the jaw members being arranged in an open relationship with respect to the second position, the jaw members gripping tissue therebetween. To collaborate. The jaw members are connected to an electrical energy source so that the jaw members can conduct energy through the tissue held between them to provide a tissue seal. At least one non-conductive spaced stop member 50a is disposed on the inwardly facing surfaces of these jaw members to adjust the spacing distance of the jaw members when tissue is held therebetween.
