Personal safety protective equipment including a lens and a support structure for fixing the lens. The lens includes a substrate and a hardcoat layer on the lens substrate. The hardcoat layer has a low surface energy outer surface, which is a) i) a perfluoropolyether urethane containing hydrolyzable silane groups, and ii) at least one perfluoropolyether moiety and at least one hydrolyzable silane. Derived from an additive comprising at least one of a group-containing acrylate polymer, and b) a silsesquioxane-based hardcoat composition. By providing such a lens in a personal safety protective device, durability against lens wear can be obtained, and cleaning can be easily performed without using a solvent that can shorten the useful life of the lens. |
