titleOfInvention | Hinokitiol as a plant herbicide |
abstract | The present invention discloses hinokitiol, a natural tropolone compound also known as β-tyaprisin, as a natural insecticide effective in combating phytopathogenic fungi. In particular, hinokitiol and / or its salts may be used to control the infection of non-Erwinia plant pathogens or to formulate non-Erwinia antimicrobial agents. Hinokitiol may also be used as a natural herbicide to control weed germination and growth. The formulation used in the present invention may contain an effective amount of a chelating agent, a pH adjusting agent and a UV protecting agent in order to stabilize the hinokitiol.
