Mechanical energy absorption system implantable outside joint and implantation method |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a method of sharing and absorbing energy between body parts. Such methods include ascertaining the pivotal connection position, fixing the base component, and minimally invasive insertion techniques. Such a system facilitates energy absorption between sites forming joints, such as between articular bones. The invention also relates to a peri-articular energy manipulation system for a body joint. The system includes an energy manipulating device having a proximal end and a distal end and is attached to a base component positioned so that both ends are attached to a body part on both sides of the joint. The energy manipulating device includes an energy absorber and the base component is arranged to move further away as the body joint moves from the extended state to the bent state. |
