titleOfInvention | Lattice-type sensor having both label detection-free binding detection function and fluorescence amplification function, and sensor reading system |
abstract | A grating-based sensor is disclosed that has a grating structure that is assembled and designed to allow both an evanescent resonance (ER) detection scheme and a label-free detection scheme. One-dimensional and two-dimensional grids are also disclosed, including grids featuring unit cells with central posts, central holes, and two-stage two-dimensional grids. A reading system for these sensors is also disclosed. Various uses as biosensors are disclosed, including cell-based assays that evaluate the effect of drug compounds, proteins, peptides and other substances on cell function. Also disclosed are biosensor embodiments optimized for the luminescence response at two different wavelengths. The luminescent response can be generated by fluorescence (natural fluorescence or fluorescence from an attached phosphor), phosphorescence, chemiluminescence, or other luminescence techniques. Two different light emitting technologies can be combined on the same biosensor chip. |
