titleOfInvention | Aqueous composition of fluorinated surfactant and method of use |
abstract | Less than: [R f - (O) t -CHF- (CF 2) n -COO -] i X i +; {[R f - (O) t -CQH-CF 2 -O] m -R-COO -} i X i +; From i X i + - and [CF 3 CFH-O- (CF 2) p -COO]; {[R f - - (O) t -CQH-CF 2 -O] m -R-SO 3} i X i + An aqueous composition comprising a surfactant represented by a formula selected from the group consisting of: R f is partially or fully fluorinated, optionally interrupted by at least one oxygen atom Q is selected from the group consisting of F and CF 3 ; R is selected from the group consisting of alkylene and arylene; X i + has a valence i that is 1, 2 or 3 Represents a cation; m is 1, 2, or 3; n is 0 or 1; p is an integer of 1-6. In some embodiments, the aqueous composition comprises a non-fluorinated polymer and is substantially free of a fluoropolymer. In other embodiments, the aqueous composition has a pH greater than 11. In other embodiments, the aqueous composition has a pH of at least 8 and is substantially free of fluorinated olefins. A method of coating a surface and an article having a surface in contact with the composition are provided. Also provided are methods of cleaning a surface using an aqueous composition comprising a surfactant and reducing the surface tension of a liquid having a pH greater than 11. |
