abstract The present invention relates to a tricyclic indole of formula (I) and (4,5-dihydro) indole or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof: wherein ring A represents a fused pyrazole, pyridine or pyrimidine; Means either a carbon-carbon single bond or a carbon-carbon double bond, and R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are as defined herein. Further objects of the invention are methods for preparing compounds of formula (I), pharmaceutical compositions containing them, and methods for treating cell proliferative disorders. Indeed, the compounds of formula (I) are useful in therapy, such as cancer, in the treatment of diseases associated with dysregulation of protein kinase activity, particularly dysregulation of Cdc7 and AKT kinase activity.
