The present invention provides a stable composition comprising a perhydrolase enzyme that effectively produces an aqueous peracid solution, a hydrogen peroxide source, and an ester substrate. The resulting peracid solution is suitable for decontamination and / or disinfection of a wide range of materials and equipment contaminated by pathogens or toxic chemicals. In one preferred embodiment, the stable composition comprises acyltransferase, sodium percarbonate and propylene glycol diacetate and is stable for 30 days or more. When added to water, the composition is activated to produce an aqueous solution with a high ratio of peracetic acid to acetic acid. |
