titleOfInvention Polymer coating on medical devices
abstract A medical device, such as a stent, having a surface that contacts body tissue, the surface having a biocompatible coating layer thereon comprising a polymer having covalently bonded allyl terminal pendant groups Such pendant groups are —O—CH 2 —CH═CH 2 , —S—CH 2 —CH═CH 2 , —S (═O) —CH 2 —CH═CH 2 , —Se—CH 2. Including a component selected from —CH═CH 2 and —Se (═O) —CH 2 —CH═CH 2 . The surface is excellent in biocompatibility and can exert strong adhesion to the metal surface. The polymer is an electropolymerizable monomer such as pyrrole.
