titleOfInvention | Biomarkers for multiple sclerosis |
abstract | Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common neurological disease in young adults, followed by a risk of chronic dysfunction and disability after 10-15% of the disease duration. There is a great need in the art for improved diagnostic tests for MS. Development of a panel of biomarkers specific for various pathophysiological mechanisms will be important for further understanding of the pathogenicity of MS, as well as diagnostic, classification, disease activity and therapeutic applications. The present invention relates to the diagnosis of neurological disorders, and more particularly to the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. A biomarker panel is provided that can be used to determine whether a subject has multiple sclerosis. Also described are specific methods for such biomarkers. |
