titleOfInvention Low power ultrasound system
abstract A low power ultrasound system for use in applications in the field of sonography such as angiography is disclosed. In one embodiment, the low power ultrasound system comprises a basic unit having an image processor and a display. An ultrasonic probe is operably connected to the basic unit. The probe includes a head portion that includes an array of crystal transducers. A plurality of pulsar / receiver modules that cause the transducer to emit ultrasonic transmission pulses are also included in the probe. The pulsar / receiver module is further configured to receive an analog signal related to the ultrasonic echo received pulse detected by the transducer. The probe includes a single low noise amplifier that amplifies the analog signal and an analog / digital converter that converts the analog signal to a digital signal. A wireless interface is included so that digital signals can be transmitted wirelessly from the probe to the image processor of the base unit. [Selection] Figure 1A
