abstract | The present invention relates to a method for producing a water-absorbent resin in which a hydrogel crosslinked polymer obtained by polymerization in the presence of an internal cross-linking agent is crushed in a crushing step and then dried, and polymerization is performed in a region where the internal cross-linking agent is large. In some cases, a method for producing a water-absorbent resin in which the amount of fine powder generated is reduced and a method for using the same are also provided. A monomer containing a carboxyl group-containing unsaturated monomer is reacted with an internal crosslinking agent (A) having two or more radically polymerizable unsaturated groups in one molecule and a carboxyl group in one molecule. And a step of polymerizing in the presence of a non-polymeric internal cross-linking agent (B) having two or more functional groups capable of forming an ester bond or an amide bond to obtain a water-containing gel-like cross-linked polymer. This is a production method comprising a step of crushing a hydrogel crosslinked polymer and a step of drying the obtained crushed product, and the amount of (A) used is 0 with respect to the carboxyl group-containing unsaturated monomer. 0.01 mol% or more and 0.2 mol% or less, and the molar ratio (B) / (A) is 0.01 or more and 1.8 or less.
