titleOfInvention | Pressure-sensitive adhesive dispersion having high solids and low viscosity and method for producing the same |
abstract | An aqueous pressure sensitive adhesive dispersion is provided. The dispersion is a reaction product of the monomer solution and the aqueous phase. The monomer solution comprises about 40 to 70 parts of a water insoluble monomer selected from the group consisting of alkyl acrylates, methacrylates, vinyl esters, and combinations thereof, and about 0.01 to 0.2 parts of monomer soluble free radicals. And a reaction initiator. The aqueous phase comprises about 1 to 20 parts latex binder, about 0.1 to 2 parts surfactant, about 0.02 to 1 part polymer suspension stabilizer, and the balance water, including. All parts are given as parts by weight per 100 parts dispersion. The dispersion has a solid phase of at least 60% by weight, a viscosity of less than about 0.3 Pa · s (300 centipoise) measured at about 23 ° C., and a bimodal particle size distribution. |
