titleOfInvention | Wound or tissue dressing containing lactic acid bacteria |
abstract | The present invention is directed to wounds or tissue dressings containing bacteria having the property of producing lactic acid from sugar by fermentation. The bacteria preferably belong to the lactic acid bacteria system. The lactic acid bacteria system includes Carnobacterium (Carnobacterium), Enterococcus (Lactococcus), Lactobacillus (Lactobacillus), Lactococcus (Lactococcus genus), Leuconostoc (Leuconococcus genus), ), Streptococcus, Streptococcus (Tetragenococcus), Vagococcus and Weissella (Weissella). A wound or tissue dressing comprising an absorbent that absorbs wound exudate is provided, the wound or tissue dressing being attached to or including lactic acid bacteria. The utility of the present invention uses a wound or tissue dressing in a method of treating a wound or damaged tissue in an individual, the method comprising contacting the wound with a wound or tissue dressing according to the present invention, whereby the wound Or demonstrated by treating damaged tissue. The treatment heals the wound or promotes wound healing. Also provided is the use of lactic acid bacteria in the manufacture of a wound or tissue dressing to treat or promote healing of an individual's wound. [Selection figure] None |
