titleOfInvention | Pharmaceutical composition for prevention and treatment of alcoholic fatty liver and steatohepatitis containing metadoxine and garlic oil |
abstract | The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical, food or beverage composition for preventing or treating alcoholic fatty liver or hepatitis, which contains metadoxine (pyridoxol l-2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylate) and garlic oil as active ingredients. In the pharmaceutical composition, the combined administration of metadoxine and garlic oil according to the present invention increases the accumulation of triglycerides in the liver tissue and the blood AST (aspartate aminotransferase) compared to the single administration of metadoxine or garlic oil. Inhibits increase, suppresses expression of FAS (fatty acid synthase), CYP2E1 and iNOS (inducible nitric oxide synthase), and suppresses inactivation of AMPK (AMP-activated protein kinase) and is induced by ingestion of alcohol It can be effectively used for the prevention or treatment of alcoholic fatty liver and hepatic steatohepatitis, or the improvement or recovery of liver function damaged by alcohol intake.
