The present invention relates to a solid oxide battery which is thin and not supported in principle, and a method for producing the solid oxide battery. The solid oxide battery includes at least a porous anode layer, an electrolyte layer, and a porous cathode layer, and the anode layer and the cathode layer include an electrolyte material, at least one metal, and a catalyst material. The thickness is about 150 μm or less. The invention also relates to a thin, in principle unsupported solid oxide battery, and a method for producing the solid oxide battery. The solid oxide battery includes at least a porous anode layer, an electrolyte layer, and a porous cathode layer, the anode layer and the cathode layer include an electrolyte material and a catalyst material, and the electrolyte material is doped zirconia. The total thickness is about 150 μm or less. The present invention further provides a thin separation membrane. The separation membrane includes at least a porous anode layer, a membrane layer containing a mixed conductive material, and a porous cathode layer, and the anode layer and the cathode layer contain a mixed conductive material and a catalyst material, and the thin separation The total thickness of the film is about 1050 μm or less.
