abstract |
A method is provided for probing multiple targets in a biological sample. The method includes providing a biological sample containing a plurality of targets attached to a solid support, binding at least one fluorescent probe to one or more targets present in the sample, and a signal from the fluorescent probe. The process of observing is included. The method includes oxidizing a bound fluorescent probe with a solution containing an oxidizing agent that substantially inactivates the fluorescent probe, binding at least one fluorescent probe to one or more targets present in the sample. And a step of observing a signal from the fluorescent probe. The methods disclosed herein also provide multiple iterations of the binding, observation, and oxidation steps to derive information about multiple targets in a single sample. Related kits are also provided. |
