titleOfInvention Bifurcated stent graft for aortic aneurysm repair
abstract A method for deploying a stent-graft in an aorta, the method comprising: placing a shunt that enters the aorta along a portion of a blood donor artery (BSA); deploying the stent-graft in the aorta along a portion of the shunt; Removing the shunt. Also, a removable shunt adapted to deploy into the aorta along the brain donating artery to supply blood to the artery during deployment of the stent graft in the aorta, between the aorta and the stent graft, From between the stent graft and the aorta, and a rigid portion that is sufficiently large to allow sufficient blood supply to the brain during deployment of the stent graft and is sufficiently rigid to remain at least partially open. A shunt with a mechanism for facilitating safe removal of the shunt is also described. [Selection figure] None
