Powder compositions and articles and methods of forming articles from powder compositions are provided. The powder composition contains at least one polymer powder and an amount of reinforcing particles, preferably having an aspect ratio of at least about 5: 1. In a preferred embodiment, the laser sintering process allows the powder composition to be formed into a three-dimensional article that exhibits one or more desired mechanical properties in a high temperature environment.
