titleOfInvention | Methods for treating Pompe disease |
abstract | The present invention provides a new and improved method for treating Pompe disease. Specifically, the present invention provides methods and compositions for targeting acid α-glucosidase (GAA) to lysosomes independent of mannose-6-phosphate. As a result, the method of the present invention is simpler, efficient, powerful and cost effective. Thus, the present invention significantly advances the progress of enzyme replacement therapy for Pompe disease. In one aspect, the present invention provides a method for treating Pompe disease in a subject by administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a fusion protein. |
