titleOfInvention | Dichroic photochromic compound and device |
abstract | The present invention provides a novel compound exhibiting good dichroic photochromic properties. SOLUTION: Formula (I) (wherein B 1 and B 2 may include a phenyl group, a naphthyl group, a heterocyclic aromatic group, or together form one or more aromatic rings. B 1 and B 2 may further contain one or more substituents, and R a is an alkyl group, a polycycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, a polyalkenyl group, a haloalkyl group, a perhaloalkyl group, an alkynyl group. Or a (C 3-20 ) cycloalkyl group, R b and R c may contain hydrogen or an alkyl group, or together, or a polyalkynyl group, a hydroxyalkynyl group, a polyhydroxyalkynyl group; May form a saturated heterocyclic group, or may form a julolidinyl group together with an adjacent phenyl group, and R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 , and R 10 may be hydrogen, halogen, -R a , -OH, -OR a , -O-CO-R a , -CN, -NO 2 , -SO 2 R a , -SOR a , -SH, -SR a , -NH 2 , -NHR a , -NR a R a , or -NR b R c ; or in any case, two or more together are cyclic A naphthopyran compound represented by: R 7 is a mesogenic group. Naphthopyran, which can be referred to as a dichroic photochromic compound, can be incorporated into optical articles. [Chemical 1] [Selection] Figure 1 |
