titleOfInvention | Eye radiosurgery |
abstract | A radiosurgery system configured to deliver a treatment radiation dose to a patient target structure is described. In some embodiments, inflammatory eye diseases, particularly macular degeneration, are treated. In some embodiments, the eye structure is placed in a global coordinate system based on eye imaging. In some aspects, the eye structure in the global coordinate system guides the orientation of the automatic positioning system that is directed based on the eye structure in the coordinate system. In some aspects, the position of the eye structure is tracked and related to the state of the radiosurgery system. In some embodiments, it is used for beam energy, direction, treatment duration. The treatment plan determines at least one of the particular disease to be treated and the structure to be avoided. In some embodiments, the structure is an eye and the eye is tracked by the system. In some embodiments, the eye is held in place, and in some embodiments, the eye is fixed by the patient. In some aspects, the reference is placed on the eye for positioning purposes. In some embodiments, reflection from the eye is used for positioning. In some embodiments, radiodynamic therapy is described for a radiosurgery that can deliver an accessory before and after other treatments and is used in conjunction with other treatments.
